“Zebu Live Conference” officially certified carbon neutral
The annual London event that celebrates the Web3 revolution, Zebu Live, has announced that it has been successful in obtaining carbon neutral certification.
The two-day live cryptocurrency conference that took place in September 2022 was fully carbon-neutral thanks to a partnership between the decentralized cloud computing network Cudos and the carbon management service provider Blue Marble. The event, which was sold out, welcomed 1,500 visitors to the Kensington Conference Center and more than 5,000 streaming abroad. It included more than 160 of the most prominent speakers in the business, including the co-founder of Dragon and Thirdweb, Stephen Bartlett, as well as the CEO of Aave, Stani Kulechov.
Following the event, we were able to reach carbon neutrality thanks to our collaborations with Blue Marble and Cudos. The first eliminates carbon emissions on behalf of customers by carrying out an exhaustive process of analysis, certification, and reimbursement of the event through a system of high-quality voluntary carbon credits. “Pacajai REDD+” is the name of the project that Zebu Live and Blue Marble are working together to assist. This initiative is located in the Amazon area of Brazil and focuses on conservation and regeneration efforts. In addition to combating the threat posed by deforestation (illegal logging and the conversion of land for agricultural use), Pacajai provides local people with the tools they need to become self-sufficient and preserves endangered species via the provision of education and infrastructure.
“Sustainability is very important to me as well as the rest of the Zebu team, and I believe it should be for all businesses and event organizers. It is imperative, in my opinion, that the activities we do have as minimal of an effect on the environment as is humanly feasible, given the current situation of our climate. With this event, we went through a lengthy process to certify all of the parts of Zebu Live that were carbon intensive. This included the food that we provided, the energy that the venues used, as well as the trips that the crew did to promote Zebu Live.
“We are very happy to work with Blue Marble to offset our carbon in the right way and also to have the support of Cudos to make it possible,” said one of the employees at Cudos.
Ashton Barger, Head of Partnerships and Programming at Zebu Live, offered their view on the matter.
Cudos, who will serve as Zebu Live’s official carbon-neutral sponsor for the 2022 event, assisted in making this accreditation possible.
“The carbon neutral accreditation that Zebu Live was awarded is something of which we are really pleased since it illustrates that it is more than feasible to organize a leading-edge event in a manner that is environmentally responsible. As we embark on a journey into a world of infinite possibilities, made possible by Web3 and the metaverse, it is of the utmost importance that we do so in a manner that is not detrimental to the health of our ecosystem.
“As the first firm in the world of environmentally friendly cryptocurrency mining to make a public commitment to carbon neutrality, we make it a priority to guarantee that our blockchain ecosystem is continuously collaborating with our carbon emission partners to reach a net-zero emission level. This statement, which was made today, firmly establishes our ethos and formally connects us with the Zebu Live event philosophy. It also represents a significant step forward in the development of our collaboration.
As Cudos’ Chief Marketing Officer, David Pugh-Jones, stated in this respect.
“Blue Marble was thrilled to collaborate with the team working on the Zebu Live project. Going carbon neutral was another proof of the event’s leadership, and it was only one of the many ways in which the event was forward-thinking.
He spoke about the partnership with Zebu Live, which was established by Henry Waite, who is also the inventor of Blue Marble.
This relationship among Zebu Live, Cudos, and Blue Marble will support further sustainable growth in the event business in the UK as well as in the newly growing Web3 event arena. For any and all future conferences that it organizes, Zebu Live plans to maintain its commitment to carbon neutrality.
